Alan hails from Offaly, Ireland.  After attending University College Dublin, he moved to Limerick to be an electronics engineer.  He moved to Boston in 2003 and now works for Linear Technologies in North Chelmsford, MA.  He enjoys golf, snowboarding and napping on the couch.       

Sara is from Atlanta, GA.  She attended Williams College and then lived for 5 years in Washington, DC.  She moved to Boston in 2005 to attend graduate school and now works as a grants manager at Peace First.  She enjoys yoga, making soup and several terrible reality shows.

We met in Boston in December, 2005. One of Alan’s co-workers was dating Sara’s classmate. Lucky for us, they had a dinner party connecting engineers and arts education students.  We happened to sit next to each other at dinner and were able to get to know each other.  The dinner party moved on to a local dance club where our 'chemistry' on the dance floor led to numbers being exchanged.   

In May 2009, we took an overnight trip to Chatham on Cape Cod.  After exploring for the day,  we were back in the hotel room getting ready to go to a nice dinner when Alan said he needed to ask Sara a very important question. He then proposed to which Sara immediately said, "yes!" We spent the evening celebrating before telling family and friends the next day.
